Romford Raiders News
NEW SEASON FIXTURES RELEASED
The Romford Raiders fixtures for the 2010/2011 season, are now available under the Fixtures section of this website.
A few points worth mentioning:
Because the majority of teams in this league normally play their home games on Sundays, Raiders have some Saturday home fixtures and Sunday road games. September sees an exciting start to the campaign with back to back games against Chelmsford and the visit of newly promoted Bristol. We also go west with road games at Cardiff and Swindon.
RAIDERS BEGIN PRE-SEASON TRAINING
Romford Head Coach Danny Marshall will hold the first Raiders’ pre-season training session on Thursday 22nd July.
DANNY D-LIGHTED WITH NEW BLUELINER
Head Coach Danny Marshall has raided the English Premier League to capture the latest addition to his roster and Romford are delighted to announce that terms have been agreed with Peterborough Phantoms’ defenceman, Julian Smith.
BIG BOOST FOR RAIDERS
It’s the one we wanted. He’s the player we hoped would be back with the Raiders although all the evidence said that he’d be on his way.
TWO BACK........AT THE BACK
Romford Raiders have added two more names to their rearguard by agreeing terms with a goalie and a defenceman, both of whom have played EPL hockey for the Raiders.
DANNY ADDS THREE MORE
Romford Coach Danny Marshall has added potential and experience to his roster by agreeing terms with three new players for the 2010/11 season.
The experience comes in the form of Adam ‘AJ’ Smith and Grant Baxter, who both join the club from reigning ENIHL South champions, Invicta Dynamos. The potential is personified by Peterborough Phantom Tom Davis, who has rejoined the Raiders after a brief spell at Rom Valley Way last season.
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!
One of the key off ice appointments has been agreed and the Raiders' management team is delighted to confirm that Ian 'Hollywood' Houghton will be the man on the microphone at Rom Valley Way again.
Despite a busy acting career - a string of appearances on Eastenders, Holby, Outnumbered, Waking the Dead and many other TV favourites, not to mention the legendary Moonpig adverts - Ian is an integral part of the Romford game-day team and has signed up for his fifth year in the box over the red line.
DM6 ANNOUNCES FIRST FOUR RAIDERS
Danny Marshall has announced the first members of his new roster as Romford embark on their opening season of ENIHL hockey.
The Raiders’ player/coach has agreed terms with four players and is delighted to have secured the services of Tyrone Miller despite stiff competition from rival bidders. The 27 year old defenceman will head up the Romford blueline and will be starting his eleventh successive season at Romford come September.

An update from Ollie
I would like to reassure you all that there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes by some very dedicated people who are doing their best to make things happen quickly and in the best way possible. Thank you to the supporters and companies who already committed financially to our cause even though there is no news as such.
DM6 is putting a squad together and will be announcing players as and when the time is right. Dan is on holiday at the moment but is still in contact with players, Mick and me daily.
