BIG BOOST FOR RAIDERS

It’s the one we wanted. He’s the player we hoped would be back with the Raiders although all the evidence said that he’d be on his way.

Despite many rival offers for his services, Romford’s teenage sensation Frankie Harvey has pledged his immediate future to the Raiders and the whole camp at RVW is thrilled with the news.

“Frankie had a fantastic first season in the EPL and is probably the most exciting prospect the Raiders have had since Danny Marshall himself”, said a Raiders’ spokesman. “Actually, ’prospect‘ doesn’t really do Frankie justice. He arrived with a bang in senior hockey last year and scored some of the most spectacular goals we’ve seen at RVW for years.

"There’s no doubt that his form was affected by injury in the closing weeks of the season but Frankie had already done enough to show that he was something special, a home grown kid and a GB regular who has all of the talent but none of the bad attitude that often goes with it.

“Some people may forget that he’s not 18 until September but he was already on our first line and PP1 unit last year and proved he was completely at home. We’re philosophical here and realise that Frankie‘s expected progression means he probably won’t be at Rom Valley Way forever but he’s here now and it’s a huge boost to Danny’s team plans. We’re absolutely delighted.“
