Raiders seek to "play the game"
Romford management are keen to confirm that despite the best efforts of some in the Peterborough press, Romford have no intention of being drawn into pointless brawls at Peterborough this Sunday. Any hockey fan travelling for that reason will be wasting their time.
On Sunday a number of our players felt that some of the "off the puck" actions warranted a face to face discussion. None of those resulted in a full bloodied bout of fisticuffs and referee Dave Cloutman was on the ball in breaking up anything that looked to be heading that way. The Romford team will therefore be instructed, as usual, to keep out of trouble with the officials in attendance, and let them deal with anything untoward.
The lads are fired up for an energetic heavy hitting final few weeks to the season and that is what they intend providing. We feel sure that most of their energies will be spent tackling MK on Saturday for the benefit of our own fans. Add to that the prospect of Swindon at home the following weekend and the last thing we want is to face our nearest rivals with a depleted squad. We owe it to the fans to put a few more home wins on the board before the end of the season.
