Romford Raiders look like remaining on ice for another season.

Uncertainty has surrounded the club’s future, given Havering Council’s plans to demolish the ice rink in Rom Valley Way and build a new super leisure centre in the town centre.

But team boss Mick Cahill revealed there are moves ongoing behind-the-scenes to give Danny Marshall’s men a chance to defend their English National League and South East Trophy titles in 2012/13.

The Raiders presentation evening was held last night, and we would like to thank everyone who attended to celebrate a highly successful season. The shirt auction saw all shirts find new homes, with some shirts selling for over £200.

With the Raiders now through the play-off finals, we know that we will be taking on the Chelmsford Cheiftains. The first leg will be at the Riverside on Saturday 21st, with the return leg at Rom Valley Way on Sunday, facing off at the usual time of 5.15pm. Saturday's game in Chelmsford will start at 6.30pm, and tickets will be on sale from Donna Smith, outside the rink, from 4.30.

Raiders comfortably beat out the Milton Keynes Thunder in Sunday’s winner-takes-all first-round playoff clash at Rom Valley Way.

AJ Smith (2), Danny Marshall (2), Matt Turner, Tom Davis, and Juraj Huska all scored as Raiders silenced the Thunder in a 7-2 win. Tom Mboya bagged both Thunder goals, while injured MK starter David Cassidy had to be replaced midway through the final period after an unfortunate collision in his goalmouth.
